President-elect Donald Trump hasn’t been inaugurated yet. President Biden is still commander in chief, and Kamala Harris is still vice president. That means they have legal and operational control over the federal government for the next two months.
That’s a lot of time for something to happen to Mr. Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.
A scene from “The Godfather” comes to mind. The don, Vito Corleone, is meeting with the heads of the other crime families. He tells them he is ready to forget what has happened — including the murder of his eldest son, Sonny.
But the don adds: “I am a superstitious man. If some unlucky accident should befall him” — he refers to his youngest son, Michael — “if he should get shot in the head by a police officer, or hang himself in his jail cell, or be struck by a bolt of lightning, then I am going to blame some of the people in this room, and that I do not forgive.”
Of course, the dons of the left are the ones Mr. Trump ought to be concerned about.
They say they have accepted the election results, but everyone understands they are angry that the voters rejected the undemocratically anointed, not-so-dynamic duo of Ms. Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance humiliated the party of “joy” and — more to the point — stand poised to undo much of what that party has done to the country over the past four years when they take office.
Despite the superficial calm, we are in dangerous waters. We must not allow our relief about the election outcome to blind us to this danger.
The party in power is determined to hold on to power by whatever means necessary, the election be damned, and not just because they are upset about the prospect of losing power. Democrats are concerned that the incoming administration will hold them accountable for their misuse of power for, among other things, turning the Department of Justice and FBI against their political rivals.
This is not merely about what was done to Mr. Trump but what was done to America and to Americans’ trust in the basic fairness of the Justice Department and the FBI. Those responsible for shattering that trust must be held accountable, as well as others who abused their positions of trust — including the current president.
Is the president-elect fully aware of the danger that’s far from over?
If my sources in military and law enforcement intelligence are correct, Americans — not just Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance — face an existential threat. It has the potential to throw America into a constitutional crisis like we’ve never seen: an attack taking out Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance before the inauguration.
Does nobody wonder why the left has been so quiet since Mr. Trump trounced Ms. Harris — with all that portends for the left? Why there isn’t chaos and anarchy in the streets? We know that these pro-Black Lives Matter, pro-Hamas, unemployed Antifa clowns often find themselves magically funded to create chaos. Since when have they been so unusually quiet about something massive like this?
It is a serious question that demands serious answers.
The president-elect and vice president-elect undoubtedly understand that until they are inaugurated and we’ve had the peaceful transfer of power Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris say they want, an existential threat shadows Mr. Trump and Mr. Vance.
Operational security is even more important than it was before the election because the stakes are even higher. The two attempts made on Mr. Trump’s life could have taken him out of the race. A successful attempt between now and the inauguration could take out the country. It could easily result in martial law and provide the excuse the regime needs to remain in power indefinitely.
Many people are unaware that preparations for this may have already been laid. According to The Weekly Standard:
“Just weeks before painting Donald Trump as a Hitler-style wannabe fascist dictator ahead of the hotly contested election, the Biden-Harris administration quietly issued a controversial directive that critics say could authorize the U.S. military to spy on or help kill Americans on U.S. soil. The Pentagon denied some of the more serious claims, painting the directive as routine and non-controversial.”
Naturally, the regime and its defenders deny it.
“But critics are expressing grave concerns. Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), speaking on his podcast Liberty Report, cited the policy as evidence that the United States is becoming a ’police state.’ U.S. lawmakers, retired military officials, and a wide range of analysts from across the political spectrum sounded the alarm about the measure as well.”
There’s no denying the seriousness of the threat and the importance of doing everything possible to mitigate it.
Those who understand warfare and logistics understand the playbook of a fallback retreat procedure with an image of termination and ceasing hostilities in order to enable a regrouping and attack strategy while the target’s (the new administration’s) defenses are relaxed.
Plotting to block the smooth transition by whatever means necessary must be guarded against as the top priority — and the safety of Mr. Trump has to be maintained at all costs.
It is imperative that the president-elect and vice president-elect travel separately and avoid being in the same place at the same time until after the inauguration.
America’s greatest chance of surviving wasn’t getting Mr. Trump elected again. It’s humbling ourselves, turning back to God, continuing to pray … and doing whatever it takes to keep him alive.
